LONDON SCHOOL ASSEMBLY
Summary of the April 17 meeting.
- ORGANIC
We heard from many schools cut staffing on school work: the situation is heavy, the average is a cut of about 2 for Comprehensive School teachers or Circle (except the very few with only full-time and non-module).
In the coming days all schools will have official data.
It seemed that the assignment, according to the directions of the circular on the staff, have had more or less these criteria
2 full time teachers per class on the historical-existing (from first to fifth) - with the use of the unknown presence,
teachers for about 30 hours to form the second to fifth (against the demands of 33 hours)
and teachers for about 27 hours to all first, whether required form, that if the new full-time education (compared to 30 hours of the required form and requests for new full-time).
The assignments of staff did not ensure the time required by school parents.
Executives in some schools already trying to find collaborative solutions hourly and organizational, in that situation Inadequate staffing.
The position shared by the assembly can be summarized as follows:

At this stage it is important to know and inform especially the School Administrator

- A NATIONAL LEVEL
In many other Italian cities, parents and teachers are faced with the same stroke of cutting staff, not all areas have been cut in equal measure, however, thinks it anywhere on the initiatives to be put in now, about the same way that from us.
The pressures that will be the first school to school, then along the same province as schools, should ultimately feed into a major national initiative in Rome.

- TEXTBOOK ADOPTION
And 'now urgent to deal with this step.
The Circular requires that ... the adoption of the textbook remains unchanged for the same class for 5 years at the elementary school for 6 years at school (where, however, adoptions have been made, as it expired in recent days) regardless of whether that will be used from year to year by different teachers. This is a clear attack on freedom of teaching, so in many schools we reason about the various possibilities of opposition (see attached motion IC 7).
We talked a little last meeting, and these concrete proposals have emerged of opposition.
ADOPTION ALTERNATIVE offers the possibility to adopt texts for one year only, because other legislation that comes under the rule. Already some colleges (the first ... unanimously IC, the IC Cross Casalecchio) were cast for this solution.
The adoption of an alternative "classical" states that you choose to buy several books of fiction for children, the book instead of reading the same for all, issues or monographs on various topics from various disciplines, a subsidiary rather than adopt the same for everyone.
But beyond that possibility, agreeing with the representatives of publishing houses, you can buy them a book reading and a subsidiary of the same for all pupils, but submitting to the board adopted the proposal as an alternative.
I ask the teachers who already have at their disposal "type decisions" to be used for adoption of alternatives sent, so that I can run them as examples.

In summary: the adoption by the alternative "team", if not inconsistent with the POF, it is possible and should be justified simply by the Faculty Board and is sovereign or not to approve, pursuant to Article 4, paragraph 5 of Decree 275, 99, "Regulations on the autonomy of educational institutions."
